The Project Superintendent will manage the installation of a single or multiple PV Project throughout the state of California. In doing so, they supervise and manage all site activities, manage work activities coordinating with foreman, crew leads and subcontractors as to site specific schedules, production rates and work progress.  Responsible for scope, schedule, labor, labor budgets, logistics, safety, and customers onsite primary representation.

Main Functions:

  • Supervise site/ project-specific field operation teams, subcontractors, consultants, and inspections to ensure projects conform to plans, specifications, schedules, and budgets. 
  • Focus on safety, quality, production, and client satisfaction
  • Supervising individual or multiple sites dependent on region, size, and complexity
  • Manage and coordinate with individual foremen for project manpower
  • Deliver projects on schedule and within approved budget
  • Support and implement company construction systems and policies that enable the project team and business to work efficiently and effectively goals
  • Work to establish and maintain preliminary and final construction schedules including review of constructability issues of the project
  • Be proactive in discussing alternate means and methods or materials. Take necessary steps to identify products, processes and strategies that will help keep us ahead of the competition in the field.
  • Review and at times perform material take offs and coordinate with a project manager for necessary purchasing
  • Be able to properly execute necessary site administration including but not limited daily reports, incident reports…etc
  • Participate in regular and routine project meetings on site and over the phone with the entire project team so that issues are identified, clearly communicated, and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Understand and navigate all local codes and be able to interface with code enforcement. 
  • Responsible for providing regular feedback to the project team including Quality Control & Quality Assurance, budget variance, schedule complications, and other issues as they arise.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and a large-scale workforce
  • 5 years of experience in general construction

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this position coordinates lead generation, lead qualification, and customer relations in support of CalCom’s goals and objectives. This position serves as a resource for the entire sales department.

  1. Drive existing lead generation and channel partnerships to meet or exceed performance objectives.
  2. Work with Director of Marketing to identify and qualify new potential clients, through cold calling and development of leads from direct mail recipients and other lead sources such as databases, partners, client referrals, and events.

Responsible for assisting the Project Managers and Project Superintendents with coordinating construction activities in support of projects to ensure that all aspects of project preparation, planning, monitoring and controlling, and execution occur in accordance with the objectives for successful completion of the project.   10. Actively communicate with Project Manager regarding unforeseen conditions or changes to schedule/scope
  11. Create and update labor tracking sheets as needed within company ERP.
  12. Work with the General Superintendent, Project Superintendent, and Foremen to properly document daily progress and construction documentation
  13. Liaison with the office, subcontractors, and suppliers for request for information (RFI), submittal reviews, issues documentation, and incident reports.

Working in our Durango, CO office, the Land Analyst researches, communicates, tracks, and implements every project’s land-related requirements from utilities, project owners, third-party renewables incentive programs, and new products/services for Company Sales and Development. The Analyst integrates Sales and Development team objectives, technical input from Design and Engineering, and regulatory requirements for the mutual benefit of the customer and the company.

Essential Functions:

  1. Research, track, document, and communicate land management information needed for project development in accordance with relevant requirements, such as utility tariffs, incentives, and financing entities.
  2. Coordinate with Sales extensively on communicating land requirements (including meter aggregation requirements) for prospective and current customers during project development phase. Assist Business Development Managers with developing a cost-effective, high quality projects by:
    1. Identifying quickly and succinctly the customer and related entity (e.g. utility) milestones to ensure timely completion of project’s land requirements.
    2. Providing direction on needed customer input, and, once received, verifying customer input.
    3. Maintaining an accessible project tracking mechanism to inform project’s relevant timelines and results related to utility land review.
    4. Providing regular updates on specific projects and program progress to Business Development Managers and Company management.
    5. Meeting incentive timelines as needed.
    6. Recommending actions to mitigate project risk related land requirements.
  3. Prepare and verify land review documentation needed for customer interconnection application submission and acceptance procedures.
    1. At EPC contract phase, generate and coordinate review of customer land review packages. Review related contract language, as requested\
    2. Collaborate with Operations team during project development and after contract signing to ensure successful planning and execution of the project for interconnection team.
    3. Prepare Handoff summary information and facilitate discussion between Sales, Sales Ops and Ops when projects are transition to Ops for management and execution.
  4. For California NEMA customers, implement requested meter grouping modifications to utility in coordination with Operations team and Energy Analysts.
  5. Conduct GIS analyses to inform Company Sales strategy and new product development. Manages Sales team GIS data.
  6. Review Sales proposals, as needed, for accuracy and completeness on land and interconnection requirements
  7. Research, analysis, and documentation preparation for CA NEMA customer meter reaggregation requests.

Responsible to assist the Interconnection Team in managing the interconnection process from utility application to Permission to Operate (PTO). Responsible for organizing and tracking all documents related to interconnection.

Essential Functions

  1. Coordinate with the CalCom Land Review Team to attain required documents for interconnection application preparation. This includes parcel entitlements and land lease documents demonstrating ownership of parcels.  
  2. Work cross functionally with Energy Storage Systems (ESS) team to understand and implement ESS application requirements.
  3. Complete and submit pre-application requests and coordinate fee payment.
  4. Coordinate internally to obtain the Single Line Diagram (SLD), site plan, method of interconnection, and other required document submittals associated with the utility interconnection application.
  5. Complete and submit interconnection applications and coordinate fee payment.
  6. Respond to all utility queries and provide additional information as required.
  7. Track status of all anticipated and active interconnection applications through acceptance and send out weekly update.
  8. Maintain all file structures relating to interconnection application materials submitted, updated, signatures needed, utility review, utility invoices.
  9. Create projects in interconnection tracker by filling out basic project information and keeping up dates of actions/deadlines.
  10. Track upcoming deadlines for each application through completion of Rule 21 engineering studies.
  11. Participate in CalCom interconnection calls to coordinate latest utility status, addressing issues on each project and provide Solar Generation Incentive Program (SGIP) application guidance.
  12. Review and confirm utility cost calculations and relay total interconnection costs both internally and externally.
  13. Provide all required documentation required for a project to achieve PTO.
  14. Coordinate equipment modification submittals to utility for current projects in conjunction with input from Project Managers (PM)’s. Track status of modifications and approvals.
  15. Coordinate smart meter installation with PM and client.

Responsible to perform preventative and reactive maintenance on solar equipment. Monitor solar installations for performance and problems. Maintain solar facilities to meet contractual obligations. Record work progress through the required platform. Interface with customers and vendors.

Essential Functions

  1. Install hardware, PV modules, inverters, and monitoring equipment.
  2. Insure communications for inverters, dataloggers, meters, smartloggers and internet devices.
  3. Perform troubleshooting on site equipment such as inverters, solar modules, wiring, and data acquisition system.
  4. Trains and develops other employees in performing preventative maintenance and routine equipment service activities.
  5. Leads equipment or system problem identification and recommends solutions.
  6. Perform component level diagnostics, utilizing laptop or iPad, phase meters, and other tools, to diagnose failed units and determine required repairs.
  7. Generate professional grade reports documenting findings that are complete and ready to be presented to customers.
  8. Accurately update work orders in the monitoring and maintenance system in a timely manner.
  9. Follow standard operating procedures and Proper Protective Equipment (PPE).
  10. Under the guidance of the Service Manager/Operations Manager, maintain calibrations and calibration records of on-site reference devices.
  11. Organize and maintain inventory of frequently used supplies.
  12. Propose opportunities for preventative maintenance programs, repairs, spare parts, upgrades, or replacement of assets.
  13. Assists in requisitioning parts and supplies.

Serves as the main point of contact for customers after project handoff. Responsible for coordinating the day-to-day preventative and reactive maintenance for CalCom’s solar photo voltaic (PV) portfolio to ensure sites are being repaired within contractual obligations.

Essential Functions

Sales & Customer Service

  1. Serve as primary account manager.
  2. Work collaboratively with members of Sales and Sales Operations teams before and after project handoffs.
  3. Work cross-functionally with stakeholders from all departments.
  4. Maintain positive owner/client relationships.
  5. Produce operational reports for both internal team and external clients.

Asset Management

  1. Manage reliability improvement with site and service personnel.
  2. Assist in negotiating agreements and coordinating the delivery of parts and services with suppliers and contractors.
  3. Ensure compliance with requirements for various project agreements, including: Power Purchase Agreements, Credit Agreements, Operating and Maintenance Agreements.
  4. Coordinate with technicians for preventative maintenance and produce reports for annual inspection.
  5. Coordinate with O&M technicians (or facility operators) as necessary to maximize site performance.
  6. Update database regarding tracking operation and contract administration.

Asset Monitoring

  1. Manage day-to-day operation of renewable energy assets, which may include solar and energy storage.
  2. Monitor performance, weather, and security data from operating plants.
  3. Monitor operational performance by reviewing Daily and Weekly Production reports.
  4. Monitor operational performance by review Daily and Weekly Production reports
  5. Work with O&M team to analyze expected vs. actual production data
  6. Assist O&M technicians as needed for on call support

    Job Description 

    The Project Manager will support the development and manage the installation of multiple concurrent, “medium voltage” solar PV projects throughout the Central Valley of California.

    • Supervises, schedules, directs and motivates the project team and subcontractors during planning, estimating, design, installation, start-up, commissioning, turnover and warranty of assigned projects.
    • Ensures customer satisfaction during and at final project completion.
    • Ensures best practices are followed for the development and implementation and maintenance of solar PV ground mounted systems.
    • Analyzes plans, construction contract specifications and codes to determine project requirements working in conjunction with CalCom Solar engineering staff and relevant contractors.
    • Follows up with appropriate parties to assure understanding and satisfaction of job scope.
    • Manages the development of project plans in advance of project activity ensuring effective execution by the Project Team.
    • Experience in project managing and installing multiple concurrent projects of different sizes is required.
    • Over time and after training, should be able to provide general guidance or train support and/or professional staff.
    • Train and teach other project managers and energy engineers the intricacies of installing and maintaining solar PV projects.
