Job Summary

The Driver/Equipment Mechanic is responsible for transporting and maintaining several types of construction equipment, such as excavators, reach forklifts, skid steers, and pile driving machines. This position requires a self-starter that can work independently, while at the same time being a team player that works closely with onsite personnel and office staff.  The position reports to the Director of Field Operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical work in the inspection, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of a variety of vehicles and construction equipment; perform vehicle and equipment inspections and preventive maintenance according to established guidelines and procedures.
  • Drive a variety of on and off road vehicles and equipment. Haul heavy equipment to and from project job sites.
  • Prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports related to vehicle and equipment maintenance, inspections work orders, repairs, certifications and assigned activities.
  • Utilize blueprints, schematics, rough sketches and technical manuals to assure proper inspection, maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment.
  • Monitor inventory levels of parts and supplies; assist in ordering parts and supplies as appropriate.
  • Communicate with Operations Management and outside agencies to exchange information and resolve issues or concerns related to vehicle repairs, maintenance, work orders and assigned activities.
  • Check fuel supplies at sites to ensure adequate availability.
  • Maintain safe working environment by following safety regulations.
  • Monitor operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid Non Restricted Class A Commercial Driver License.
  • Safety oriented. Osha 30 Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of techniques, practices and procedures of diesel, gas and alternative fueled vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Be able to adapt to ever-changing working conditions and situations. 
  • Knowledge of methods, equipment, tools and materials used in the repair and maintenance of vehicles.
  • Ability to troubleshoot.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

Job Description 

The Project Manager will support the development and manage the installation of multiple concurrent, “medium voltage” solar PV projects throughout the Central Valley of California.

  • Supervises, schedules, directs and motivates the project team and subcontractors during planning, estimating, design, installation, start-up, commissioning, turnover and warranty of assigned projects.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction during and at final project completion.
  • Ensures best practices are followed for the development and implementation and maintenance of solar PV ground mounted systems.
  • Analyzes plans, construction contract specifications and codes to determine project requirements working in conjunction with CalCom Solar engineering staff and relevant contractors.
  • Follows up with appropriate parties to assure understanding and satisfaction of job scope.
  • Manages the development of project plans in advance of project activity ensuring effective execution by the Project Team.
  • Experience in project managing and installing multiple concurrent projects of different sizes is required.
  • Over time and after training, should be able to provide general guidance or train support and/or professional staff.
  • Train and teach other project managers and energy engineers the intricacies of installing and maintaining solar PV projects.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects
  • 5 years of work experience in construction management
  • Basic understanding of solar electric (photovoltaic) and/or electric systems
  • Ability to develop and maintain schedules of crews, subcontractors, logistical requirements at remote sites
  • Ability to manage budgets - approved value, cost to date, projected cost to complete, total projected cost vs. approved value
  • Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Word, time management software, inventory management software
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment a plus
  • Self starter
  • Ability to work well and communicate well with others
  • Ability to work under pressure and on deadline
  • Must be willing to travel to remote sites and stay on location as needed

Summary

CalCom Solar is seeking a solar technician to join our Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team. The technician will work with the O&M Manager, Asset Manager and Production Analyst to reduce downtime of our energy assets and maximize our customer’s ROI.  The technician must enjoy making service calls for both scheduled preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance and conduct themselves in a professional manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reading blue prints, running conduit, wiring devices, troubleshooting, and performing quality control testing – must enjoy service calls!
  • Reading and interpreting mechanical, architectural and electrical drawings and code specifications for determining wiring layouts.
  • Troubleshooting, testing and repairing emergency generators and various electrical systems and power distribution systems to ensure that they are working properly.
  • Performing upgrades or preventive maintenance to electrical control systems and PV systems.
  • Running tests, isolating problems, replacing damaged section of wiring, laying conduit, and performing other tasks as required.
  • Ordering and inventory of basic supplies when necessary
  • Training general electricians and working on various projects without superior’s supervision.
  • Keeping abreast of new technology, changes in PV system, electrical services, and manufacturing processes.
  • Fully comprehend electrical theory and NFPA 70 National Electric Code (NEC)
  • Repair switch gear and device installation and termination
  • Performing physically demanding tasks like moving or lifting heavy objects, digging trenches for laying conduit.
  • Be able to work on AC and DC

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current Driver License
  • High School education
  • Proficient in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, various DAS platforms, and comfortable fixing networking issues.
  • Minimum of 3 years electrical construction or electrical maintenance.
  • Minimum of 2 years solar electrical construction or solar electrical maintenance.
  • MA Journeyman or master electrical license.
  • Basic understanding of TCP and Modbus protocols.
  • Basic understanding of how to interface with and understand various communication devices that operate under the TCP and Modbus protocols.

Job Summary

The Office Coordinator is responsible for providing a variety of administrative office functions to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and contribute to the overall success of to the company. This role will be responsible for all facility management, safety and fleet coordination and will report directly to the President/COO.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage day to day administration of headquarters office, warehouse and coordination between remote workers and headquarters. 
  • Maintain overall office efficiency by planning and implementing office systems, layouts, and equipment procurement.
  • Will act company safety coordinator including the facilitation, with our safety consultant, the tracking of individual safety training requirements per role/position and trade craft.
  • Will act as company fleet coordinator including the tracking of master agreements, vehicle mileage and fuel costs.
  • Assist set up and participate with the on boarding of new employees as it relates to their office needs including but not limited to setting up new employee’s computer, IPad, and other equipment with basic software.
  • Meeting and Greeting visitors. Answer phones, forward information by receiving and distributing communications; collecting and mailing correspondence.
  • Maintain office equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting failures; calling for repairs; monitoring equipment operation.
  • Observe ways to improve job efficiency and cost-saving measures. Use initiative to make suggestions to the appropriate individuals.
  • Run routine errands as needed picking up office lunches, post office, and picking up supplies.
  • Respond and act on other assignments as determined by Management.

Job Summary

The Solar Installer is responsible for the installation and maintenance of PV systems. You're willing to help out wherever needed and wear numerous hats in doing so. You are versatile enough to be an exceptional team player as well as an effective individual contributor. This position reports to the Director of Field Operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair the racking, panels, and foundations for ground mount solar systems.
  • Layout and assemble solar modules / array and mounting hardware.
  • Lift and carry photovoltaic panels into position for racking.
  • Under direct supervision complete site wiring and grounding.
  • Organize and maintain system components in warehouse, company trucks, and on job sites.
  • Pull and organize adequate inventory daily for installation requirements.
  • Document completion of completed installation.
  • Clean up materials from job site.
  • Attend mandatory training sessions on safety and installation.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in large scale PV installations, general construction, or carpentry highly desirable.
  • Ability to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather environments.
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs of weight frequently throughout assigned workday.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
