Net Energy Metering Aggregation (NEMA)

UPDATE: The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) issued a new draft NEM 2.0 policy on December 15, 2015 maintaining the elements of Net Energy Metering (NEM) and Net Energy Metering Aggregation (NEMA) that are critical for Agricultural customers:

  • Ag operations will continue to earn the full retail rate on the power they generate with solar
  • True-ups will remain annual
  • NEMA will continue to be an option for Ag operations

As one of the first solar contractors to capitalize on Net Energy Metering Aggregation (NEMA) for Ag customers (NEMA is also called Aggregated Net Metering or Meter Aggregation), CalCom Solar is uniquely qualified to help you negotiate the NEMA pitfalls that Ag operations and water districts need to avoid in order to be successful.

With the right expertise, however, the financial gains with NEMA are significant. If you’ve priced solar previously, you need to take another look. There are millions of dollars in additional savings available for a typical Ag operation:

Before Nema After Nema $3.5 Million Additional Savings
• $3 million deployment cost • $2 million deployment cost • $1 million deployment savings
• $200,000 annual savings • $300,000 annual savings • $2.5 million additional lifetime savings
